Infrastructure Kanadevia Inova UK LTD

Project 1: Walsall Energy Recovery Facility

Overview

Building an Energy Recovery Facility (ERF) comes with challenges – security shouldn’t be one of them. With a constantly evolving site and unreliable power supply, Kanadevia Inova needed a flexible, all-seeing security solution that could keep pace with the project’s growth.

Solution

We hit the ground running with a phased plan, designed to scale and evolve with the ambitious project.

00-1

Time-lapse cameras

We deployed a mains-powered camera at the new cabin and a solar-powered camera in an area without permanent power. A dedicated portal gave Kanadevia Inova, site crews, and clients live and historical access to footage, ensuring total visibility.

00-2

Hard-wired CCTV

In November 2024, we installed CCTV cameras at the site compound, creating a 24/7 monitoring hub in the guard office. By January 2025, more cameras were added as contractors moved in. By March 2025, we completed the final phase, securing the entire site boundary.

00-3

Security integration

On-site manned guarding provided 24/7 coverage, linked directly to our Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) for immediate response to any out-of-hours threats. Remote access was provided for Kanadevia Inova’s management and teams, allowing them to view live and recorded footage from their smart devices.

00-4

Leamore Lane expansion

In January 2025, we assessed and upgraded the CCTV system at the Leamore Lane office and storage facility. We reused cables from the old system, saving costs, and by February 2025, we fully installed 16 new cameras using a Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) to ensure optimal camera positioning.

Project 2: Thameside Energy Recovery Facility

Overview

At Thameside ERF, there was no power on-site. We responded by delivering a solar-powered security solution, ensuring continuous surveillance while keeping costs manageable.

Solution

We delivered a power-independent system that stayed agile through every phase.

00-1

Solar-powered CCTV

Two solar towers, each with four cameras, were set up to monitor key areas. Tower One tracked the entrance and railway lines for health and safety, while Tower Two watched the bridge construction linking the site. Both towers fed live footage to Kanadevia’s management, site teams, and Tilbury Dock Police, who were granted access via a site-supplied tablet.

00-2

Alarm response & security coordination

24/7 monitoring from our Alarm Receiving Centre ensured swift action on any security breach. Our direct link with the on-site security team meant threats were neutralised in real-time, day or night.

00-3

Time-lapse cameras

Two solar-powered time-lapse towers were deployed to track construction progress. Tower One monitored the main site, while Tower Two focused on the bridge build. These towers switched over to mains power once it was available. A secure portal provided live and archived footage for real-time project tracking.

Results & Benefits

  • Adaptive security approach: We deployed a mix of solar and mains-powered systems tailored to the site’s needs.

  • Cost efficiency: Reusing existing infrastructure at Leamore Lane and switching to mains power at Thameside reduced long-term costs.

  • Continuous protection: Our solutions ensured 24/7 surveillance and rapid response to potential security threats.

  • Remote accessibility: Live footage at the fingertips of management, site personnel, and emergency services improved site oversight.

  • Time-lapse monitoring: Enabled project tracking and stakeholder updates through a dedicated portal.

Testimonial

“MAVE has been integral to our security and surveillance installations across multiple projects. Their systems have performed reliably, and their team always delivers on time.”
