Construction Willmott Dixon

Overview

Willmott Dixon’s new leisure centre project needed a robust security solution to protect the site through every stage of the build. With high-value items, including plant machinery and fuel storage, theft and vandalism were major risks. This added to the challenge that the site had a temporary generator with no power supply.

Solar-powered CCTV

We immediately installed two solar-powered CCTV towers to cover the site while the boundary was being completed. The towers not only provided instant surveillance but also deterred criminal activity. Within two weeks, we ramped up protection by deploying two more solar towers to secure the rear of the site, ensuring complete 24/7 coverage.

Hard-wired CCTV

As part of the boundary went up in December, we moved to a permanent CCTV installation, removing two solar towers in the process.

Battery backup

With the site relying on a 24/7 generator, we installed a battery backup to keep the CCTV system running in case of generator failure. Initially planned for six weeks, this solution was extended indefinitely, ensuring uninterrupted security even after establishing permanent power.
